FerraGlide™ String-Saving Steel Saddle System.
Graph Tech Guitar Labs has taken String Saver polymer technology and combined it as an insert into solid stainless steel saddles to create our new FerraGlide™ String-Saving Steel Saddle System.
The String Saver insert in the FerraGlide saddle releases micro-lubricants activated by string pressure and vibration that allow strings to vibrate freely. The steel portion of the FerraGlide saddle maintains the traditional appearance of your instrument. The result is a happy marriage between longer string life, the bite of steel tone and vintage good looks!
FerraGlide saddles were developed in response to input from our customers who wanted the high-tech benefits of String Saver saddles, but who also wished to preserve the authentic look of their vintage instruments. FerraGlide saddles give you the best of both worlds – advanced technological performance combined with traditional vintage aesthetics.
As a string moves and vibrates against the patented String Saver™ insert embedded in the FerraGlide saddles, a thin Teflon™ film is created, 500% slipperier than graphite. Teflon eases the grip of the saddle on your string, and microscopically spreads the stress over a greater area. For string breakage the difference can be dramatic... strings last and last, no matter how hard you play!
